I have an overwhelming feeling that I may be more than a little late on finding out about Passion Pit. Even the BBC has called them the sound of 2009. I’m not quite sure how the BBC fits into the U.K. mainstream media as far as music goes but I think it’s safe to say you may already know about them. In fact, one of my friends saw a poster for their album Chunk of Change on his way to the grocery store.

Nevertheless, it’s music worth posting, so here are a few of the standout songs from the album and a goofy video.

Streaming on their website. Their upcoming album Dear Science will be coming out on the 23 of September and will likely be accompanied by tour dates. The BBC’s Zane Lowe also featured the new single Golden Age on his Hottest Record in the World Right Now feature.

TV On The Radio – Wolf Like Me [Live] (zshare)

A new Bloc Party single titled Mercury debuted on BBC’s Zane Lowe show, and it looks like they’re making a concentrated effort to keep their formula fresh. No mp3 yet, but you can listen to it on their website.
