Tomorrow is the last day of the year 2009 and everywhere you look there is media telling you what the top 10 everything was. This song might not make any of those lists but it’s got that nice casual flow that Kid Cudi excels with. The Vampire Weekend instrumentals work really well too. Let’s hope no one’s New Year’s eve ends as abruptly as this song does.

Kid Cudi – Man On The Moon: The End Of Day

A week’s worth of listening to Kid Cudi’s new album Man on the Moon: The End of Day has been good to me. I’m not sure whether to call it hip hop or pop music and I expect the truth lies someplace in between. The mark of a great lasting album for me is oftentimes when I can’t remember any of the names of the songs. What I mean is that A) all the songs are really great B) it listens like an album not like 3 singles with filler material. The End of Day is like this. I had a lot of trouble choosing a few songs to post because they really need the full body of work to be appreciate. Up Up & Away I included specifically because it sounds more like a pop song than anything else. But it’s really catchy and I don’t feel too guilty enjoying it. There are also two songs featuring Ratatat, which standout with great production and instrumentals.

Getting Brain in the Library Cause You Love Knowledge

If anyone ever tells you that they’ve heard enough songs about oral sex then they obviously haven’t heard this one. It’s a recent collab between Kid Cudi, Kanye West, Common and Lady Gaga. While the entire song revolves the idea that “you” should “poke her in the face”, it’s catchy and lighthearted fun. It’s the summer and the perfect time for all sorts of filth and carnality, why not have some music to get you in the mood? Just don’t do any serious damage if you do poke someone in the face.

Kanye West Features Kid Cudi? Yes He Can.

We feature Kid Cudi on his stop in Montreal and a month later Kanye West leaks a song from 808’s and Heartbreak featuring Kid Cudi? The only reasonable conclusion I can reach is…Kanye West reads this blog. Cheers K-West.

Aren’t you glad you read this blog and were ahead on the Kid Cudi vibe? We kind of liked Kid Cudi when he was a poorly kept Fool’s Gold secret, but we’re happy that Kanye is taking him for a ride into the mainstream. He’s earned it. Anyways, here’s the track called Anyway.

Monday Re up #8 Kid Cudi Edition

Last Friday at Coda club, the peer pressure weekly featured some very real Hip Hop through the performances of Hollywood Holt and Kid Cudi. Ever since Kid Cudi dropped Day ‘N’ Nite which we featured in the very first edition of Monday Re up, we’ve been following his tracks with utmost attention.

Kid Cudi’s set was in a few words a hip hop extravaganza. In a few more words, I’ve admittedly not been to as many hip hop shows as I’d like to say I have, but that’s mostly due to Montreal’s general lack of Hip Hop shows. On that note, I don’t have anything to complain about in the coming weeks as Common and N.E.R.D. are actually here in a few days at Metropolis.

I’m trying to build up the courage to spend 42.50$ plus taxes to go see them, but haven’t quite made it yet. Let alone convince some other poor soul to come with me.

The interaction with the audience really set Kid Cudi apart from the other acts I’ve seen. I was especially pleased when he did a freestyle over flashing lights and spit a line dissing the girls in the front ie the drunk bitches dancing near the stage trying to get even a foot on the stage to be a little closer to pseudo fame. Agreed, Mr Cudi.

See below a meticulously compiled list of tracks designed to both mock the people who missed the show and appease those who did. Included is Maui Wowie, one of the most fun live songs in his set and his take on our own A Trak’s Mastered originally featuring Lupe Fiasco I believe.
